The Dashboard Pad is to be used when mounting to the dashboard (you don't need it if you are mounting to the windshield). It creates a smooth matte finish that is ideal for the mount to adhere to. It also protects your dashboard from any possible damage. It should go on the dashboard first-sticky side down.

The adhesive tape on the underside of the Dashboard Pad is not reusable. Please test the position of your mount before removing the protective cover and applying the Dashboard Pad to your dash. We recommend using the included Dashboard Pad for dashboard mounting only. What we advise that when trying to remove the sticky pad, is to pull up the little tab that is attached to the sticky pad, and gently slide a credit card or a putty knife underneath it at the same time. This breaks the seal, and makes it much easier to remove.
